About
To capture a moment in time and freeze a preserved reality is the magic of Plein - Air landscape painting. Landscape paintings can present the beauty in the world or the sublime. My hope is that the viewer appreciates the beauty of the moment as I have presented them. I paint all of my paintings during one sitting and on location. In my paintings I try to react to the moment. I silence my mind and turn off all exterior influences. I try to be still, I try to be present. Sitting outside, in the elements my perception of time changes. My senses perceive the small details of sound and the ever changing light. These inputs influence choices that I make compositionally and in color theory. Many of my decisions are also made through looking and interpretation.
